Meet Our Team Members
Joy graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary studies Edinburgh in 1993 BVM&S with distinction and has worked in Lisburn Veterinary Clinic ever since. Joy has a particular interest in cattle fertility and herd health production.
Iain qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2003, immediately joining Lisburn Veterinary Clinic and became a partner in 2015. The majority of his time is spent on the farm animal side of the practice where he is predominantly involved in dairy herd health and routine fertility work. Iain has served on the council of the Association of Veterinary Surgeons Practicing in Northern Ireland (AVSPNI) since 2009, becoming President in 2024
Christine graduated from University College Dublin in June 2004 and began her working life in Lisburn Veterinary Clinic in July! She has thoroughly enjoyed working here ever since. She has a particular interest in small animal medicine and surgery but thrives on the variety that mixed practice offers. Outside of work, she spends her spare time running after two boys and a mischievous cat.
Miriam graduated from UCD in 2013 and worked in mixed practice in Magherafelt for 5 years. She then decided to move to solely small animal practice and joined LVC in March 2020. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice; but has a particular interest in surgery and is currently studying towards her certificate.
Emma graduated from Glasgow in 2022 and joined Lisburn Vets that August. She grew up on a commercial beef farm and has recently started her own pedigree Angus herd. She is enjoying the life of a mixed vet.
Jamie graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2022 before joining the team in Lisburn. He has a particular interest in farm animal medicine stemming from his agricultural background.
Lauren graduated from Liverpool Vet School in July 2023 before starting as a mixed vet in Lisburn that August. Growing up on a dairy farm, she has a keen interest in farm animals in particular but looks forward to working with all the different species of pets that come into the practice.
Glenda graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2016 and has worked in mixed practice ever since, joining the team in Lisburn Vets in August 2022. She grew-up on a beef and dairy farm and has a keen interest in both small and large animal medicine.
Ellie graduated from Edinburgh in July 2024 before joining Lisburn Veterinary Clinic in October. She grew up with suckler cattle and sheep and has a small pedigree Suffolk flock of her own. She enjoys all aspects of mixed practice.
Doreen qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1994 and joined Lisburn Veterinary Clinic in 2004. She has a special interest in anaesthesia, emergency & critical care nursing. As a clinical supervisor, Doreen enjoys training & assessing students to help them achieve their veterinary nurse qualification. She has a cat called Max.
Rebecca joined in April 2017 as a student veterinary nurse. After 3years of training at CAFRE, she qualified in December 2020. As a nurse, she enjoys all areas of her job especially wound care, radiography, and nursing medical inpatients. She has 2 dogs at home – a Jack Russell Cross and a Hungarian Visla.
Aisling attended Athlone Technological University of Shannon where she studied for 3 years and qualified in October 2021. She joined our team in Lisburn in March 2021. She is very keen on diagnostic imaging in taking x-rays. She adopted a rescued LucherXGreyhound, who loves to sleep!
Marta moved to Northern Ireland from Spain in 2013 and joined the team in Lisburn in August 2021. After studying with us as a student nurse, she graduated as an RVN in 2023. She has 2 dogs at home and loves travelling, cooking and watching movies.
Catriona graduated from Harper Adams University as an RVN in July 2023. She presented her research on ‘Male Minority in the Veterinary Nursing Profession’ at the 2023 BVNA Congress. Catriona enjoys surgical work, diagnostic imaging and dentistry. When not working, she likes relaxing with my Miniature Schnauzer Lola or going on woodland walks.
Nicole joined Lisburn Vets in March 2023. She has loved animals since a young age and settled quickly into our team. At home, she has three cats (Cookie, Ginge and Boo) and a dog called Kobi.
Sarah has worked in Lisburn Vets for 20 years and in 2023 won the Local Pet Awards Veterinary Assistant of the Year. She loves working with and looking after animals in her care.
Darren graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 2015. Having worked as a veterinary receptionist whilst studying, he joined the team in Lisburn Veterinary Clinic in 2017 and is now the practice manager. He is currently working towards his diploma in veterinary practice management.
Katherine started her career in Lisburn Vets over 30 years ago and has been working as an RVN ever since. She has worked in various practices throughout her career, and is now back working as a part of our reception team.
Amanda joined the team in November 2022. Having always worked in an office/accounts, she enjoys the change of pace as a receptionist, meeting pets and their owners visiting the clinic. Amanda grew up with dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, lambs, and ducks. Her collie, Cassie, has been trained to gather sheep; there is Bonnie the cat; and the boss of her house is a miniature Yorkie Cross called Misty.
Jill joined the team in February 2023 after moving to Lisburn in January. She has enjoyed every minute with the team and clients. She loves welcoming the pets and their owners to the clinic and making our patients feel immediately at ease. At home, she has a Boxer named Cooper, a Maine Coon named Jason, and new additions of sheep and goats this year.
Emily joined the team in May 2023. She is interested in horses and farm animals, and spends a lot of her time working on her boyfriend’s farm, and has a cat called Bean. Emily hopes to go on to become a vet in the future.
Kirsty joined the team in February 2020. She enjoys meeting clients and their pets, especially dogs. She is kept busy at home looking after her two daughters and a cheeky cat called Jet.
Elaine joined the practice as part of the reception team in March 2024, having previously worked in a technical background. She particularly enjoys meeting the clients at reception as they bring their ‘fur babies’ into the clinic.
